Western Wood Structures designs and supplies vehicular, pedestrian, golf course and garden bridge systems using pressure treated glued laminated timbers (glulam). That's right, naturally beautiful wood; one of the oldest known bridge materials is still one of the best. That's because today's strong, economical, and versatile glulam can last a lifetime when properly pressure treated and maintained. The development of glulam has opened whole new dimensions for designers of wood bridges. Large and more complex members can be manufactured by using kiln-dried boards glued with waterproof adhesives. Clear-span bridges up to 200 feet in length have been designed using engineered glulam. Western Wood Structures supplies a completely prefabricated custom designed bridge package, using the finest available glulam, sawn timber, hardware and steel. All wood members are pressure treated after fabrication, which provides protection from insects and decay, and extends useful service life to 50 years or more. Our bridge packages include detailed fabrication and assembly drawings that enable even inexperienced field personnel to install a typical bridge kit in a minimal amount of time. Or, if you prefer, use our experienced crews to install your timber bridge. Western Wood Structures is your complete timber bridge company. No job is too large or too small.
